ONCE UPON A DANCE aims to capture the hearts and spirits of preschoolers with the joy of dance! While your dance explores music, rhythm and creative storytelling, they will also be learning fundamentals of ballet. Our curriculum is designed to set all children up for success by focusing on fostering kids' natural imagination and love of movement. It is more than a dance class!
Who is it for?
ONCE UPON A DANCE has 3 class options for different ages and readiness levels.
- Class 1 - Toddlers who are ready to dance with a trusted caregiver. (Sat. 10 AM)
- Class 2 - 3 to 5 year olds who are potty trained and ready to dance independently. (Wed. 3:50 PM and 4:30 PM)
What does my child need to wear for dance class?
Every class has an assigned "costume" (uniform) that your dancer will need to wear each class. This is either a ballet dress (traditionally for girls) or a fitted t-shirt and leggings (traditionally for boys) with ballet slippers. See the dress code and purchase items here.
When does the next session start?
The winter session begins January 9, 2021 and runs until March 13.
How long is a session?
The winter session will run for 10 weeks. Class meets one time per week for 30 minutes.
What is the cost?
Tuition is $105 per student for the 10 week session.
There is also a one time separate uniform fee (our "costume") for new students.
Are masks required?
At this time, face coverings are required to be worn in the studio at all times for dancers ages 3+, except during brief socially distant water breaks. This is in compliance with best practice recommendations for local health department and NY state guidelines.
Can boys participate?
Absolutely! At our program, children of all genders are encouraged to move, create and enjoy dance. Whether your child likes tutus and tiaras or swords and superheroes, they will love this dance class.
Is there a recital?
Students ages 3 and older are invited to participate in our 2021 spring performance in June!
